Braitenberg Vehicles (1984)
A thought experiment by cyberneticist Valentino Braitenberg.
These simple vehicles have two light sensors connected to two wheels. Depending on how the wires are crossed, complex behaviors emerge:
Fear (v): Direct positive wiring. Speeds up when facing light, turning away.
Aggression (A): Crossed positive wiring. Charges directly at the light.
Love (L): Direct negative wiring. Slows down and stops near the light.
Explorer (E): Crossed negative wiring. Approaches light but veers off to explore.
The light source is marked as * with a visible diffusion gradient.
