Ant Foraging (Swarm Intelligence)
This model demonstrates how simple individual agents (ants) can discover optimal paths between their nest and a food source.
Ants wander randomly looking for food (F). Once they find it, they carry it back to the nest (N), dropping a trail of pheromones along the way.
Other ants smell these pheromones and are more likely to follow stronger trails. Shorter paths accumulate pheromones faster, creating a positive feedback loop that optimizes the swarm's foraging route.
